What are What Ability Camps?

What Ability Camps are Short Term Respite (STR) experiences that give participants the chance to enjoy short stays away from home in a group setting.

Camps are designed around fun, learning and connection, while still providing the structure and support participants need to feel safe and confident.

Complete our form in about 5 minutes to help us connect you with the right local support team.

We’ll call you

Get to know how our Camps work, confirm eligibility, then lock in a time for your free Onboarding call. This call can take up to 30 minutes.

Build your support plan

Together we’ll create a support plan around your goals, and interests. We'll look at upcoming camps to find likeminded participants and interests that suit you!

Build your support team

Your Regional Manager will organise a Community Access booking (where possible) to connect and build rapport with your Support Workers, prior to your first camp.

Once we’ve confirmed group suitability, dates, location, and activities, your adventure begins!

Camp themes

Adventure camps

Outdoor experiences designed to build resilience, social skills and independence. From beach days to high energy beach footy games, participants are supported by our experienced team in a safe, structured and confidence building environment.

Footy camp

A sport themed camp built around teamwork, skill development and community connection. Participants enjoy game day experiences while building communication skills, confidence and social interaction in a fully supported setting.

Masterchef camps

A foodie themed camp designed to build confidence and independence in real world settings. Participants explore simple recipes, kitchen safety and mindful choices while sharing sweet moments together in a fun, supportive environment.

Short Term Respite (STR) is an NDIS funded support that provides short stays away from home with support.

Our camps are delivered under STR and focus on social connection, skill development like meal preparation, and supported overnight experiences.

What Ability Camps are suitable for children, teenagers and adults who enjoy group experiences and social activities. Camps are designed to support a wide range of abilities and support needs.

What Ability Camps are run nationally across NSW, VIC, QLD and WA. Locations and schedules vary by state.

Camps are funded through Short Term Accommodation (STR) in an NDIS plan. If you are unsure about your funding or do not have STR included, our team can guide you through your options.
